About Scratch Card
“I’ll be very, very open and straightforward about it,” Weizer told analysts on Playtech’s post-Q2 earnings call. “There were certain concerns that because it is an election year, and obviously, gaming is a political issue or there were references by politicians throughout the elections about gambling.
“Given the sensitivity around that, we were kindly asked to collaborate with the government [and] with the prospective customer that we are in discussions with to wait until the elections.”
Despite the delay, Weizer declared: “I will say that the expectations remain the same to enter into an agreement and launch sometime at the beginning of next year.”
What is Scratch Card?
Instead of asking players to select individual titles from a conventional lobby, Swipe Games takes its cues from the social-media feed. Players enter an endless stream of short videos and have three to five seconds to choose between three possible outcomes. For example, in a football penalty shoot-out game that could mean a goal, miss or a save.
The ending of the video reveals the result. If the player does not fancy a particular clip, they simply swipe up to see another.
“We are as quick as crash games, but the pattern and the feel are more like betting”

“IAGR is extremely grateful for Fabio Macorin’s willingness to dedicate his extensive talents to representing South America at a pivotal time for gaming regulation across the region,” said IAGR Vice President Brian Krolicki.
“He brings a powerful combination of expertise in law enforcement, financial crime prevention and regulation to IAGR. His 17 years with the federal police and his leadership in building Brazil’s new regulated betting market give him a unique perspective on combatting the illegal market, strengthening AML controls and advancing regulatory cooperation. He is an ideal addition to the IAGR board of trustees and will be a tremendous asset to our global community.”
The IAGR Conference is themed “Steady Hands, Changing Ground: Advancing Regulation in a Connected World”. It will examine how regulators and other stakeholders can enhance regulatory oversight in the face of constantly evolving technology, markets and risks. Sessions will focus on strengthening cross-jurisdictional cooperation and developing more effective regulatory responses to the rapid transformations within the global gaming and betting landscape.
